1. 하마비 This stone monument was made in 조선 dynasty (1392~1910) to give direction and warning...meaning getting off your horse and set your mind to meet the Great king 수로.
2. 입구 when you enter this shrine use the east side and out the west. The central gate is being opened when they have big ritual ceremony in every year on March 15 , September 15. Also the central gate has been believed as a sacred one which was used by the king 수로.
3. 세갈래 길 Here are three road to lead the Royal tombs, central road is for the king...we call it 신도 literally means the path of God.
4. 홍살문 literally means ' the gate painted with red pigment ' The colors of red have believed from the ancient can ward off evil spirits. We often see them in shrines in Korea.
5. On your right side this area is for the ritual and left side building is residential area for 제관 who is in charge of this tomb and keeping.
6. 가락루 was built in 조선 dynasty around 18th century by the King 정조
Other stone monuments were built in 1920 to honor the people who devoted their lives in this place.
7. 상생대 the altar is being used when they have a ritual ceremony in spring and fall...before giving the offerings usually a pig to the King they place the pig for one night on that stone and wait until they have a massage from the King. The pig was chosen with best quality and cleaned carefully.
8. The portrait of 수로 허왕후 in their lives the right side is more higher than left, after death the left side is more higher than right.
9. 납릉 the two fishes is symbolized fertility and the center of this is the 파사탑 stupa which was believed brought from india when the queen 허 arrived in 가야 in her age 16 AD 48.
10. Three animals were chosen to keep this royal tomb...the tiger is symbol of bravery, the sheep for generosity and also the sheep pronounce in Korean '양' is brightness, the horse is meaning activity and driving force. At first when people tried to make this grave dug the ground water sprung up people couldn't make this site..they struggled. One day a monk appeared and said to them to make a pond on top of highest mountain in this area. They did like were told...the water dried out and buit this grave.
11. 숭선전 is for the first King and queen , 순안전 is for the 2nd to 9th King and queen. 안향각 is the place to store the incense and candles for ritual. There are 5 persons who held the ritual ceremony...mayor of 김해 city, the representative of the 김 clan, the representative of the Confucianism..a man who keeping the site, a member of the relatives...
The ceremony start at 11 A.m...the stone stand is for to place a bowl to wash their hands...
After the end of ritual, all the things which used in the ceremony are burnt at the coner of the furnace.
