The Myth of King Suro
After the Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth, there was no country which could be called, nor king also courtier. Only there were 9 chiefs who were leading the 9 tribes. 아도간,여도간,피도간,오도간,류수간,류권간,신천간,오천간,신귀간. The population of the entire tribe was 75,000. Each lived nearing mountains or hills , had own their well cultivating land. One day , accordingly AD 42 on March, they heard a strange sond from the mountain 구지봉, so 200~300 people gathered at the top of that mountain.
There was no shape just only ringing voice , saying " is there any one here..?" he asked , people replied " we are here now " and then the voice said " where am I " replied " this place is the 구지 mountain " the voice continued " The reason I came down here today is that the Heaven ordered me to be the king of this region "
Each one grip the handful of soil of this mountain and sing a song like this : Tortoise tortoise stick out your head..if not we will roast and eat you up...
The voice made people to sing and dance...would be a ceremony to greeting the King. A moment later they looked up to the sky a purple lope slowly coming down and reached the land. There was a box which covered with red silk was made of gold. They opened the box and they've found six eggs looks like the Sun. They carried the box to their home and after 12 hours of waiting the eggs started to hatch and turned to six boys. Only within 10 days the boys grown up till 270cm tall, the face was looks like dragon, 8 colored eyebrows...
The first child was named 수로..literally meaning ' firstly appeared ' rised to the throne on a full moon. He named his kingdom as 가락 가야 , one of the six confederacy of the kingdom. The left 5 boys became the leaders of each 가야 confederacy.
